Felt Sense

Felt sense is a subtle, bodily sensation that holds the whole of an experience—even before you can name it. It’s not just an emotion like sadness or anger, and it’s not a thought or idea. It’s a physical presence in the body—perhaps a tightness, a flutter, a heaviness, a warmth—that arises when you gently turn your attention inward and ask, “How is this situation living in me right now?”

More than a fleeting feeling, a felt sense is a living, shifting sensation that contains meaning. It might begin as a vague pressure in your chest, a twist in your stomach, or a buzz in your throat. You don’t analyze it—you sense it. It is not a mental experience, it is a physical experience. And as you stay with it patiently, it can unfold, change, and clarify itself, offering new insight or emotional release.
